What is sinter vaporization?
Vaporization is a thermochemical treatment that consists of exposing the sintered product to saturated steam, with the aim of closing the residual porosity present in the material.
This process improves the mechanical and structural characteristics of the component, increasing corrosion resistance and durability over time.
This is one of the most widely used post-sintering phases in powder metallurgy, as it allows for the addition of additional properties and improved surface quality to the sintered parts produced by DL Sintered Srl.
The advantages of vaporization treatment
The vaporization treatment creates a protective patina on the surface of the sintered piece, which increases its resistance to corrosion and rust.
By closing the residual porosity, the mechanical part becomes impermeable to gases, more resistant to wear and equipped with greater mechanical properties.
