PRODUCTION PROCESS

DL Sintered Srl sintered parts are made using the most advanced industrial powder metallurgy processes. The sintering process is used to mass-produce metal components with a specific shape, and physical and mechanical properties and geometric tolerances that make them ready for use without further processing. An integrated process that enables the production of so-called ‘sintered’ finished parts.

In fact, to make the best use of the features of powder metallurgy, strict design principles must be followed. In this way, we support our customers from the creation of the executive design to the definition of the products up to their production.

The aim is to produce synthesised parts with a structure that is as simple and robust as possible in order to ensure maximum service life.

1

Mould design and construction

Design and manufacture of moulds for the production of sintered parts

2

Blending

Creating powder mixes suitable for making sintered parts

3

Pressing

Pressing powder mixes with polymeric binders in a mould fitted with a matrix

4

Sintering

Starting the sintering process in a low temperature furnace

5

Tumbling

Removal of edges to make the surface smooth and free of imperfections

6

Calibration

Porosity reduction to provide physical and mechanical properties to sintered parts

7

Vaporisation

Thermochemical treatment necessary to close the pores of the sintered product

8

Mechanical processing

Machining to insert inserts or remove other materials
