At the end of the sintering process, the sintered pieces can be subjected to improvement operations such as calibration and coining, with the aim of optimizing the physical-mechanical properties of the component.
These steps allow for a reduction in porosity, an increase in density, and more precise dimensional tolerances.

At the same time, DL Sintered Srl performs precision mechanical machining and surface treatments to give sintered parts additional characteristics, such as greater resistance to wear and corrosion.

The main processes applicable to sintered metals include:

  • Carburizing, carbonitriding and nitriding → to increase surface hardness and mechanical strength.

  • Impregnation → to fill micro-cavities with resins or oils, improving lubrication and compactness.

  • Oxidation → to increase resistance to corrosion and atmospheric agents.

  • Infiltration → to saturate the microcavities with liquid metal alloys, obtaining an increase in density and mechanical performance.
